"We often get called in when
regular medicine can't do
anything. That's when being
an organ mechanic is
a beautiful thing."

IBS Relief Program

Irritable Bowel Syndrome or IBS is a functional bowel disorder and usually a diagnosis of exclusion.

Patients often experience chronic abdominal pain, discomfort, gas, bloating, alternating constipation and diarrhea with no detectable cause through conventional testing.

At Calgary Centre for Visceral Manipulation we want to gain a comprehensive understanding as to why you are struggling with digestive issues and promote optimal functioning of the digestive tract.

The IBS Program Involves . . .

. . . State of the art Electrodermal Screening, Heart Rate Variability (HRV) testing, visceral manipulation therapy, supplements and nutritional guidelines.

Treatment is as follows:

  • Electrodermal Screening allows us to assess the viability of all the organs including the digestive tract, the liver and the adrenals. This test is conducted on the initial assessment as well as subsequent visits to track progress
  • HRV testing assesses the autonomic nervous system and allows us to see the gut’s ability to heal itself.
  • Visceral manipulation therapy is used to release adhesions and allow better movement and function of the bowels.
  • Supplements and nutritional guidelines will be part of the program to decrease the inflammation in the gut and heal the mucous membranes of the digestive tract.
  • Vitamin IVs may be necessary to bypass the digestive tract and stimulate more rapid healing in the body.

This is a 6 week program for intensive gut healing and rejuvenation. A typical program begins with an initial one-hour visit with Dr. Roberts, in order to explore your health history, conduct state of the art alternative testing, investigate food sensitivities and arrange for any additional testing that may be appropriate.

HRV testing (Heart Rate Variability) is conducted on the 2nd visit. Visceral manipulation therapy is done once a week for 6 weeks. A subsequent visit is scheduled at 6 weeks to track progress and make the necessary changes to ensure success.
